Amir Modabberi

Born in 1972 in East Azerbaijan (Iran), he began painting at the age of 8 with the support of his family. In his teenage years, he started to realistically trace lines from both animate and inanimate nature, using oil painting techniques. In creating these works, he strived for true-to-life depictions, which served as a bridge to communicate more closely with the viewers of his paintings.

As one of Ismail Bajalanlu’s few master students in his youth, Amirreza Modaberi learned the techniques that have contributed to his current success. He now looks back on thirty years of experience as a painter, with numerous group and solo exhibitions, and holds a special official license from the Ministry of Culture to run his school of fine arts.

He is a Tehran Visual Arts Development Institute member and the Tabriz Visual Arts Association. Additionally, having been selected as “The Enduring Face of the Nation’s Guilds for the Year 2009,” Amirreza Modaberi, despite this and other high honours as an Iranian artist, ultimately considers himself nothing more than an eternal student of art.

In 2023, through his acquaintance with cultural manager Morteza Dizaji, he began his exploration of European painting, engaging with Impressionism and Expressionism.
